While in Hawaii, I was able to capture and photograph this beautiful little gecko. I believe that this species of lizard was introduced to the islands and is not native.
Overall, he was quite calm as I shot photos of him from different angles. The white, studio-like background was a posterboard. The lighting is natural light from an overcast day. I love the rich color and texture of the scales. Following the shoot, this little fella went on his way.

I really like the tight, crouching postion the gecko has its body in here. It's very...uh...gecko-like.

Do you always carry the posterboard with you just in case, or did you just happen to have it with you? Whichever, it was a great idea to use it like this. It looks like it has been studio-shot.
This was taken right outside of where we stay over there. I just ran inside an grabbed the posterboard. I don't usually carry posterboard with me...unless I think I might need it.
Yes, the coloration is amazing, and I love their short arms and legs. Adorable. I have some pictures somewhere. I lost all my Hawaii pictures, but my sister-in-law has them all on a disk... too bad she lives 1,000 miles away

This is very nice, the colors are so vivid and expressive. I lived in Kaneohe on Oahu and saw plenty of these guys, but mostly we had the big brown ones that barked. This one looks like he's looking right at you and smiling, great capture

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
