Square collection of beautiful photos
Artist's Comments
This is part of a project I did a while ago. As part of this project, I photographed several different types of fruit and digitally manipulated them to suggest that peeling one type of fruit will reveal a different type below the peel. The most difficult part of this project for me was coming up with fruits that really looked good together. I had originally wanted to create a series of ten images but time constraints and other factors limited that number to five. I am, however, quite satisfied with the final images.
-- This is the most subtle of the five. Many people have no clue what the inside of a mango looks like. It doens't look like an orange...I promise. I really like the colors here. -- Manipulated using Photoshop 5.5 & 7.0. -- Also see: Apple Onion, Banana Strawberry, Orange Raspberry, Papaya Pineapple |

If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't follow. I'd be at the bottom to catch them when they fall.

I think this one is my fav of the 5. Perhaps because as you say, it's the most subtle one

Yes, the subtle nature of this one really adds an element of realism to this one.

but i think the reason this one doesn't work is simply that the inside of the mango skin is clearly wet, and the surface of the mandarin is dry, which means it looks wrong, to my eye at least. fix that, and you've got another winner!
congratulations on a fascinating series!xxx

Great job! You should try selling them to, or displaying them at a juice bar!
